AI automation for law firms

WorkflowPal builds private AI workflows for a firm’s non-billable work: screening new inquiries, intake summaries for conflict-check prep, routine first drafts and client status updates. An attorney or paralegal approves every output. We have no law-firm case study yet; for a SaaS company, an internal research assistant saved 20 hours a week.

Where do attorneys and staff lose the most time?

  • Screening new inquiries that are often outside your practice areas or missing key facts.
  • Assembling intake summaries and the names and entities needed for conflict-check prep.
  • Routine first drafts (engagement letters, standard correspondence) that nobody can bill for.
  • Client status updates, written one email or phone call at a time.

What can AI automate for a law firm?

Anything that goes to a customer, a candidate or a carrier, or changes a record, can wait for a person to approve it until you trust it.

What results have law firm clients seen?

We don’t have a law-firm case study yet, and we won’t invent one. The closest match is an internal research assistant built for a software company:

Source: a SaaS company, not a law firm. Read the internal research tool case study.

Will it work with our existing tools?

Yes. We build on the tools you already run (your practice management system, document management and email), so nothing gets ripped out and your team has nothing new to learn. If a system has an API, an export or a shared inbox, we can usually work with it. The audit confirms this for your specific stack before you commit to anything.

How do we start?

Request a free workflow audit. Tell us how a matter moves from inquiry to engagement. You get back a one-page plan: the 3 tasks worth automating first, hours saved, and what a build would cost. It takes about 15 minutes of your time, and there is no obligation to buy anything.

Frequently asked questions

Is client data used to train AI models?

No. What we build runs in your firm’s own accounts, client data is not used to train models, and every output goes to a person for review before it goes anywhere.

What about ethics rules?

ABA Formal Opinion 512 sets out how lawyers’ existing duties (competence, confidentiality, communication, supervision and reasonable fees) apply to generative AI. We design for those duties with human review and firm-controlled data, but your firm decides how the rules apply. This is not legal advice.

Does the intake workflow give legal advice?

No. It collects facts, sorts inquiries and drafts summaries for your staff. Anything resembling advice comes from an attorney.

Which practice management systems does it work with?

The one you already use, if it has an API or integrations; otherwise we work from email and exports. The audit checks yours first.
